Coachmen - "fijakarji"

Coachmen called “fijakarji” can take you for a ride around the lake and to the Bled Castle. Many trips both near and far are possible: to Vintgar or the Pokljuška ravine, through villages of Gorje, Podhom and Zasip, or through Mlino, Selo, Ribno, Bodešce and Koritno, as well as to the golf course or the Šobec Camp. If you wish, they will take you as far as Begunje and Draga, Kropa or Bohinj. The carriage station is by the Festival Hall (tel. (04) 5741 121).

Traditional Transport to the Island by Covered Boat - "pletna"

The island church with its bell invites all visitors. The best way to get to the island is by the traditional Bled covered boat called the “pletna”. The pleasant sojourn on the lake includes a half-hour stop on the island (or longer by agreement). You will find the boatmen at the Health Park, under Hotel Park , in Mlino, and at the Rowing Center. Other rides on the lake are available by agreement.

Cream Cakes – “kremšnita”

A golden crispy crust from butter dough (made with butter and not margarine), a delicious vanilla cream of exactly the right consistency (i.e. with exactly the right amount of flour - if there is too much, they are no good, if too little, they collapse after cutting). Topped with whipped cream and a crispy layer of butter dough covered with powdered sugar. You see? Your mouth is watering already...
